Dandelion Pendant

Dandelion Pendant

I was requested by a customer to design and make a pendant for a christening gift. The client wanted the design to have some link with the child's name, Polly.  I found out that Polly means "little" or "humble" but the client didn't think that she wanted to promote those qualities so we looked at broader meanings. We found out that Polly is derived from Molly which is a derivative of Mariah or Miryam - thus "sea of bitterness" or "long wished for child". We went for "long wished for child", for obvious reasons! I then looked in my trusty Flowerpaedia...

Opal and Diamond Pendant

Opal and Diamond Pendant

My customer came to me with a few rings that she wanted melted down and made into two new pendants. She said she wanted the pendants not to be too fine, to be "totally different", contemporary and abstract. I took apart the rings and took the stones out so I could get a better sense of how the stones might work together to create the contemporary feel the client was after. I did a few designs for each but these were the ones that the client liked the most. I was so happy to make them and they turned out...

Large Geode Slice Bangle

Large Geode Slice Bangle

This bangle was commissioned by the same customer who commissioned the large geode ring I posted about. I loved making it but it was quite a challenge to get the outside shape to match the rough edges of the stone and it took a long time to do. I love how the stone looks like it is floating in the metal and that you can see all the way though to the skin of the wearer.  Now I just need to find some more geodes to work with! If you have any custom orders in mind. Don't hesitate to get...

Gold and Silver Large Geode Ring

Gold and Silver Large Geode Ring

I LOVE this ring. My client had this geode, it was a pendant and had a gold electroplated back but she wanted it made into a ring. She said she wanted a "boho" feel as it was to be a 21st birthday gift for her daughter, who really embodies that style. I came up with this pattern to be on top of the geode to fit that style and to make the two tone aspect more deliberate. I love how it came out and will definitely be making more geode rings in the future.

Opal, Gold and Silver Pendant

Opal, Gold and Silver Pendant

My amazing yoga teacher asked me to remodel a pendant that belonged to her mother. We discussed making the pendant a tree of life that looked like it was growing out of the opal. Pictured is the final piece. The opal is set in 9ct yellow gold and the tree is silver with 4 gold leaves. My teacher was so happy with it and hasn't taken it off since I gave it to her.
