Studio

I use traditional goldsmithing hand tools and methods like sawing and drilling and I use a traditional enamel technique called Plique-à-jour. This technique creates a stain glass like effect and so the true colours of the enamels are only revealed when a light shines through them. This makes these pieces personal and private. Only the wearer knows the true beauty of the piece. It also makes them a talking point if the wearer chooses to show people the true colours and explain the meaning behind it The first time I look through the enamel of each piece is such a thrill. Revealing its true colours is like magic.
My studio is my happy place. I obviously spend a lot of time there, behind my bench, making all of my tokens. I've really made the space my own complete with Star Wars, Disney and Harry Potter symbols hidden in my hand painted mural.
